Creating a commissioned painting always starts with a conversation.
A custom art is not only an object or an action, but the fruit of an encounter between its future owner, the artist, and the space where it will sit. It is a very rewarding process on both sides, and only possible with patience and trust.
The creation of something strongly individualised for your personal space is a unique and challenging journey, yet vastly satisfactory. Therefore, I take all the responsibility to build an emotional relation between the painting and its recipient.
ORDERING A CUSTOM ARTWORK IN FEW STEPS:
1)You are a part of the creation
It is essential for me to understand the space for which the artwork will be destined (through your descriptions and photos) and to get to know your preferences regarding plants (symbolic / meaning / related emotions) and colours.
2) Subject, colours and size
Following our first exchange, I communicate a proposition/or propositions respecting my own artistic values, including the artwork’s size, its subject and colour palette, estimated time for realisation and quotation.
After your approval, a 50% down payment is required.
3) Research & preparatory botanical study
Based on the subject research, I prepare a botanical study with an indicative tone scale. We discuss shades, shapes - it is a space to make some comments and adaptations.
4) Space and trust feed my creative process
I need space and intimacy to create. After your approval of the preparatory study, I do not use to consult with my clients about the painting’s progress. You need to leave me some artistic freedom, as it is the only way to achieve our common expectations.
5) Final artwork and logistic
Once the work is finished, I share with you the photos and video of your custom painting. It is always a magical moment to see your reaction for something made exclusively for you, the creation you are a part of.
Then, the remaining balance and shipping costs are due prior to shipment.
Personal pickup is only possible in Lisbon. International shipping is available and will vary based on the painting size and shipping destination. For international orders, I recommend to ship the artworks flat packed or rolled up, without frame to avoid very high transportation fees. However, I remain entirely at your disposal if you need any help in choosing the right frame.
Last, but not least, please note that I do not copy or repeat my own paintings - each creation process is individual, authentic and one of a kind.
